The Next Time You Read Your Bible, Remember To Do This.

1. Read the verse

2. Mark any keywords or phrases

3. Determine the type
If authoritative, follow for a).
If Poetic or Historical, read surrounding verses for context, then follow for b).

4. Question 1 (awareness):

a) What is this verse asking me to change about myself?
b) What is this verse telling me about the nature of God, of the world, or of myself?

5. Question 2 (learning):

a) What obstacles are preventing me from enacting this change? (be as specific as possible)
b) How does what I’m being told influence me to change my priorities in life? (be as specific as possible)

6. Question 3 (Testing):
a) What can I do to get past these obstacles? (write it down)
b) What is preventing me from changing my priorities? (write it down)

7. Question 4 (Resolution):
a) How will this verse affect my life from now on? (write it down)
b) How will this change in my priorities affect my life from now on? (write it down)

8. Pray for growth
Ask that God gives you the strength to enact what you have written down.

9. Set a Reminder
Put what you have written in plain sight in someplace you spend most of your time and keep it there for at least 1 week.
(Very important, do not skip)

10. Be Transformed
Be steadfast in your growth and live a more fulfilling life because of it

11. Share your experience with others

12. Repeat
